It all started with a rained-out baseball game in 2008. Tom Casale — father, AYSO baseball league coach, and partner at a Chicago Digital Marketing Agency — saw an opportunity while standing with his son and other parents on a sloppy, muddy field that Saturday morning. As any parent knows, it’s irritating to show up a for a game or practice that’s been canceled last-minute due to bad weather or any other number of reasons. Imagine how many calls each coach, or an entire league of members for that matter, has to make to reach all those parents in time. It’s a hassle for everyone involved. On that day, however, an invaluable solution came out of that rain-drenched frustration when Simplified Alerts, a DIY group text alert notification service, was born.
It didn’t take long for the subscription-based SMS mass text platform to take off with youth leagues, and soon after bigger opportunities presented itself. One of our first corporate clients was an automotive manufacturer who wanted to communicate product updates and videos directly to the mechanics at hundreds of their independent dealerships. They also had the option of polling these mechanics to get feedback. Simplified Alerts was an effective tool to keep people informed and up to date. But it didn’t stop there.
Over the next few years we started getting calls from a different customer segment: IT directors, HR Managers, and local office or facility managers of companies and organizations seeking a SMS Alerts and Notification platform that could help them communicate messages with employees, staff, mobile workforces and more. Since then the Simplified Alerts Platform has also been used by transportation companies, mobile work force companies, member organizations, property managers, event companies, churches, and global corporations to send a variety of targeted messages to their internal groups or external audiences. We even have a national law school that uses the text alert system to communicate with and nurture students through the recruitment and enrollment process.
